Cornerstone Risk Solutions, an IMA Financial Group company specializing in the development and management of group insurance programs, has made a key hire this week with the addition of Hendrik “Hennie” Terblanche as its new Director of Underwriting Services. Terblanche brings over 20 years of experience in various leadership roles in the P&C space and has built and retained world-class teams of commercial insurance professionals for multi-line, multinational products.

Terblanche gained extensive experience as a producer and as an owner/operator of an independent P&C insurance agency in South Africa prior to immigrating to the United States in 2003. He held a variety of positions with ACE USA and AIG from business development, regional and national leadership to ultimately Head of Product. Success was achieved by building a strong reputation for increasing efficiencies and streamlining systems, building world-class professional insurance teams and profitable portfolio management in $80m+ books of business.
Most recently, Terblanche served as Strategic Broker Leader at AIG where he ensured close collaboration and alignment between brokerage and underwriting teams, with an in-force GWP of over $1B. During his time at AIG, Terblanche was named Regional Manager in the Midwest U.S. and head of the firm’s National Underwriting Center, served as Head of Product for AIG WorldRisk before taking on AIG’s Strategic Broker Leader role in 2023.
